Get a sneak preview of ¡Globalquerque! with an afternoon of fun filled activities and workshops created in collaboration with the National Hispanic Cultural Center's Education Department. The whole NHCC campus will be full of dance, music and hands-on activities for the young and the inquisitive of all ages. Activities are geared towards both children and adults.

Here's what the Global Fiesta looked like last year. Look for the return of many favorites in 2010, plus workshops by Emeline Michel (Haiti) and Simon Shaheen (Palestine) and a Community Spotlight on Mexico. Check back for schedule and updates.

11:00 to 12:30: Community Spotlight - Mexico - Bicentennial Celebration!, programmed by the Mexican Consulate

Special Presentations:

(Time TBD) - Doll Making Workshop
Look at dolls from around the world and use cloth, newspaper, wire, beads and more to make your own bendable dolls and figures. Presented by the Museum of International Folk Art in Santa Fe.

(Time TBD): One Million Bones, a short presentation about this fundraising art installation effort to increase global awareness of genocide, including its educational and artistic components. Artists will lead a discussion on the power of art to work toward social change.

(Time TBD): Tour of current show Furniture is Art in the NHCC art museum with featured artist

Dance Classes: 10:30 to 3:30 PM (Salón Ortega, with demonstration on the Plaza Mayor)

- Bone making - part of the One Million Bones project, a fundraising art installation to raise awareness about genocide.

- The wildly popular ¡GlobalCOOKIE! Contest

- The NHCC Art Museum will be open and free
